Lyme Library and LION

The Lyme Library became part of the LION consortium on January 3rd.

The staff are very pleased to provide this new development in the life of the Lyme library and are here to help you if you have any questions about this new service. As with all changes sometimes there is a learning curve and we are here to help you get used to the new system.If you have an questions or you experience a “glitch” just call us at 860-434-2272 or stop by the library and we can clear things up for you.

Downloading digital materials

If you are used to downloading audio and e-books using the LIBBY app we recommend that you delete the app you currently have on your device and reinstall a new one .

When prompted to enter your barcode, put in your entire Lyme Library card’s barcode with no spaces.

When prompted to search for your library type in “Lyme”. When your possible choices come up go down the list and choose “LION: Libraries Online ” with the listing of “Lyme Public Library-Lyme CT” under it.

Search for the items you are interested in and download them.

Using the catalog to order print books

Our website will continue to have all the functionality that you are familiar with, but the catalog (that you access when you click the “search the catalog” button) might just look a little different starting in 2024. When you find an item that you want to put a hold on or have delivered to our library from another library, you will use your existing library card number (no spaces) as your password and your username will be your actual name (last name is best) as you search for and order books in the LION catalog. You no longer will be prompted for a PIN. Choose the pickup location as “Lyme Library”
