“Twice Told Tales” with Janet Roach

“Twice Told Tales” with Janet Roach
October 7 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
“Twice Told Tales” is back!! Join us for a wonderful evening of entertainment, and community connection when local Academy Award winning screenwriter, Janet Roach, walks us through some of her favorite films. In “Twice Told Tales” we will be featuring two different movies over the course of two sessions that feature similar plots but have been created by two different directors and are based on two different screenplays. At the end of the second week’s film we will be having a potluck dinner where we will talk about movies or whatever else is on your mind and share with old friends and new ones through the magic of film making.
This week’s film is “High Society” (directed by Charles Walters) starring Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra. A musical comedy version of last session’s Philadelphia Story in which a rich divorcee (Kelly ), her singing and songwriting ex-husband (Crosby) and a tabloid-type reporter (Who has one heck of a voice for a reporter! (Sinatra)) all come together on the eve of her remarriage. All this while singing and dancing to the fantastic songs and lyrics of Cole Porter
Tonight’s program includes a potluck dinner. Bring along a dish we can all share, if possible. The library will provide drinks, and dinnerware.
