Connecticut Gardens: A Celebration with Caryn Davis

June 3 @ 2:00 pm 3:00 pm

Local resident, author and photographer Caryn Davis will be appearing at the Lyme Public Library to present her new book Connecticut Gardens: Historic, Public & Private. Ms Davis will present just some of the stunning photographs from her book which takes you on  a visual tour of some of the state’s most breathtaking historic, public, and private gardens. Maybe you enjoy simple cottage gardens or maybe you are drawn to botanical achievements from such notable luminaries such as Frederick Law Olmstead, Gertrude Jekyll, and Beatrix Farrand. This presentation will be sure to please attendees either way.  Learn about the stories involved in creating the gardens and where you can find them so you can stroll through them yourself in order to enjoy their peaceful beauty. Hear their stories, learn the history and inspiration behind their designs, and the benefits of having public gardens.

This program is sponsored by the Lyme Garden Club and the Friends of the Lyme Public Library.
