The Nutmeg Children's Book Award encourages
children in grade 4-8 to read quality literature and
to choose their favorite from a list of ten
nominated titles.
The Nutmeg Children's Book Award is
Connecticut's only children's choice award for intermediate
grade readers.

1. Only common English words, please! No slang, no proper nouns.
2. More than one form of a word is okay.
3. E-mail us your list or bring it in person to the library.
4. You can enter by yourself or with your grade or family.
5. You do not need to be a real kid to enter.
We'll post real kids' entries in the library, and we'll announce the results on this page. Please take a few minutes and enter our contest. At the same time, you can tell us what you'd like to see on this page and give us your ideas for the next contest. Just like you, we love to get mail.
We think you'll like the Yuckiest Site on the Internet. . You'll find lots of science and have fun too. Check out their yucky information, including burps, spit, and all those things your parents told you never to do or talk about in public. There's also lots of stuff on worms and bugs. It may seem yucky, but it's scientific too.
